Lamb
We specialize in heritage breeds of sheep, using purebred rams on our crossbreed ewes. Southdown, Tunis, Dorset and Blue-faced Leicester are all breeds we use to produce lambs that do well raised on pasture. Our object in using heritage breeds instead of hybrids is to reduce resources from off the farm to raise our meat. Our lambs are never fed grain, antibiotics, dewormers or growth enhancers. They are grass-fed and left with their mothers to nurse until slaughter. Most of the lambs for meat are ram lambs, but we also butcher ewe lambs that we have decided not to keep as part of the flock. All of the lambs intended for meat are less than 7 months of age. We offer lambs that typically range in size from 23 to 32 lbs. hanging weight (dressed and then processed into specific cuts of meat). Whole or half lambs are available for purchase at $9.50 per pound, plus shipping. Typical shipping costs are $55-$85 in the continental U.S. — we can give you a better idea of shipping cost when you furnish your zip code. Contact us through email to order a lamb.
